May 10, 11, and 12 : Mother's Day Rio Grande Whitewater Festival
Events include Mother's Day Races (the second oldest kayak and rafting race west of the Mississippi!), fly fishing demos, migratory bird events, interpretive hikes led by BLM rangers, and lots of parties.
May 17 - 19 : Taos Lilac Festival
Crafts fair and music on the Plaza, tours of historic Taos to see the best Lilacs. Established to celebrate the Lilac heritage and promote the care and planting of Lilacs.
May 18 : Exhibit Opening: The Third Chapter - Four Taos Artists
Four one-artist exhibits throughout the museum show the transition from the Taos Moderns to the art scene of the 1970s. Woody Crumbo, Jim Wagner, RC Gorman and Fritz Scholder.
